Tinder, the popular dating app, has announced that it is leaving Russia due to concerns over "human rights". The move comes after the Russian government added Tinder to a list of companies required to store user data within the country.

In a statement, Tinder said: "We believe it is important to be transparent with our users about how we handle their data, and we have been unable to reach an agreement with the Russian authorities that would allow us to continue operating in the country."

The decision to leave Russia is a blow to Tinder, which has seen significant growth in the country in recent years. However, the company has faced criticism from human rights groups over its handling of user data and privacy concerns.

Amnesty International welcomed Tinder's decision to leave Russia, saying: "We applaud Tinder for taking a stand on human rights and refusing to comply with the Russian government's demands."

It remains to be seen whether other companies will follow Tinder's lead and leave Russia over concerns about human rights and data privacy.

If you are a Tinder user in Russia, the company has said that it will be deleting all user data from its servers within the country.
